Padfoot huffed as he walked down the street, a homeless dog was not looked at often. He sighed as he kept moving looking for a meal or for something to do other than wander around. He stopped at a sign and sat to read it, he was not far from a good place to beg for food. He started off once more and went to sit and beg off the kitchen staff.
Padfoot scratched a flea till he saw a person and he barked at them. He was dirty looking and dusty but somewhat happy and approachable.

Reus had gone out shopping, he could fit easy in both the muggle and the magical world, even if people did ask about the scars on his face, he always had something that he could say about them. He never spent a lot of time out, he enjoyed his time at home more then he did going out and about with people. Today though he had to do some shopping and making sure that he had food in the house so that he could treat guests if they came over, and when the boys were home as well. He sighed as he looked at his hands, he had no idea where Sirius was, but he would find him one day and get him back into a place that he would be alright and the kids could see him again and understand that everything was going to be alright.
The boys were at school, so he had stopped at a place to grab a small snack before heading home, when he saw a dog on the street and went to see it. He was half hoping that it was Sirius but, well the last time that he had seen him it well, it had been odd for a moment. He walked over there, but even though he was dirty and looked as though he had not eaten for some time he knew that it was him. "Sirius is that you?" He asked blinking.

Sirius barked at him and then sat staring at him, he cocked his head and then sat up and begged from him. He needed food and he didn't care that this was Moony his best friend he needed a meal. He wanted to show him how repentant he was for what he'd done to his sons and left them behind at his home.
He had his ears down and his body language aside from begging showed his suffering. He truly was suffering from what he'd done, he'd struck his children it was time he paid for that sin.

Remus sighed as he looked at his best friend, the man that he would literally do anything for, would even give his life up for if it meant that he would be alright. "You don't have to do this Sirius." He said softly as he moved over to him, but he could see how hungry he was, and the feelings that were coming off of him. "Come on then, lets get you something." He said as he walked over to one of the food stalls that was there and paid for some food for him as he went to the side again and put the food down for him so that he could eat and Remus could talk at him.
"The boys are at school right now, Castor is in Ravenclaw, the other wont tell me yet, said wants it to be a surprise. They are doing well, and they are good they are the best boys that you could ever want or hope for. Castor misses you a lot, talks about you often to the annoyance of the other. i think that it is time that you come off of the streets and make things right with them now my old friend." Remus sighed softly as he looked at Sirius.

He looked at Remus and wuffed softly as he looked at him, he did have to do this he hurt his sons. This was his penance for hurting his kids he'd promised he'd never hurt them and he'd broken that promise. If Moony didn't get it that was ifne and he could accept it, he padded towards him following the food and the fact of being fed. He remained quiet and listened to him talk the fact that Castor got Ravenclaw made his tail wag, his son was smart!
He ate the food and quickly finished it then looked around and nudged Moony's leg to get him going towards a Wizarding area he wanted to go human but not here were Muggles could see him. Then he looked at his friend and barked again trying to get him moving. This was going to make it hard to talk to him if he didn't listen and move. |

Remus sighed as he looked at his best friend, one of a few but the one that he cared about the most in the moment. He looked at him as he was eating and telling him about his sons, so that he knew that his sons were alright and that things were going to be alright. The push against his leg he knew what they meant. He got up from the bench as he dusted off hs shoulders for a moment as he tucked the bag of other things he had into his bag of holding of orts. "Yes, cant talk when you cant talk back." He turned as he started to walk, they were not far from a wall that would take them into the wizarding world of this area.
He walked over to the wall that he knew and tapped his fingers on it three times before he walked through, knowing that Sirius would follow him because that was what they did. He then waited on the other side for him, they really had to talk it had been three years already, and he needed to come home to his boys, at least for a little while.

Sirius looked at him and got up walking with his best friend wishing he could tell him he didn't want to return that he wanted to stay away since he was very much determined to be a good man when he came back. He deserved this and he was serving his setence for striking his son, he took a deep breath and headed with him when he got in the wizarding world. He changed from dog to man and looked at Remus, he sighed as he looked like utter shit.
"Remus don't say anything at the moment. I'm working on it ok? I'm trying to get better before I come back. I'm not sure I should get them back after what I did." He told him as he looked at his best friend and he felt like utter garbage for what he'd done to his children. |

Remus stayed quiet as Sirius was talking, he was going to let him get that all out and get the things said as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. He shifted some a he sighed as he let the pent up air out of his chest. "Sirius, its been three years man, three years that they have not gotten to see you, three years of Castor waking up in the middle of the night crying out for you. Yes, he is at Hogwarts now, but you are still his father who he misses more then anything else. Yeah I am there for him, but i am not you." Remus said as he looked at his friend as he took a moment to just let that sink in to him with all the things that have been going on as well.
"You have got to stop beating yourself up, it has been three years, three years is long enough to atone for the things that you have done." He told him as he reached over and put his hand on his shoulder. "The only one that is holding you back is you. The boys need their father, their real father to come back and let them know that you love them. As it is right now they dont think that you love them." He told him as he wanted that to sink in.

Sirius looked at him and sighed heavily as he knew that Remus wouldn't care about his self punishment and he knew that Remus would rather take care of him and his sons. Remus had always been especially close with him, but he didn't know why that had been the fact that Remus loved him. He kept his mouth shut, "He cries for me?" He asked softly as he suddenly felt A LOT worse than he had before as he looked at his friend. "What about his brother?" He asked as he looked at the man.
"I hurt my kids! I hit them I'd sworn I'd never be like she was to them. Not ever." He sadi to him then looked away as he took a deep breath, "I will, I've been an emotional moron and I shouldn't have been that way with my sons. Thank you Remus truly, thank you." He said to him and then looked at the ground, "Can we go to your place, get a warm meal and then a shower?" He asked as he looked at his friend.

"That might not have been the best thing to tell you, but yes he does because he misses you, you are his father and that is something that i wont be able to ever take the place of. He just, well he is quiet for the most part, he does not say much but when he does you can tell that there is a lot of emotion behind the things that he is saying." Remus said as he looked at his best friend, and he really wanted to one day to tell him that he loved him, but now was not the time as he had to work and make sure that his friend was going to get through this self implemented punishment that he had put on himself, but the time was done and he needed to come home.
"And it has been three years and its time to be done beating yourself up for that, they have moved on from it, and it is time for you to come home and move past it, only you are holding onto the past like that and it needs to end." He told him as he was holding onto his arm, and wanted to be something to tell him that it was time to come through and be better. "Yes we can, you need clean clothing as well." Remus held onto him as he apperated them to his place.

"You are always going to be their father, no matter what happens in life, no matter the things that they or you go through, you will always be their father and they are always going to need you no matter what." He smiled as he moved over and was holding onto his shoulder for a moment, he wanted him to understand that no matter what, Remus was always going to be there for him and that was never going to change in this world, nothing at all.
"And I have clothing that you will fit so that should work out well." He then moved over to him and then hugged his friend, something that he had been wanting to do for some time now. He then shifted so that they apperated right into the front yard of the house as he then let go for a moment. "Well that felt better." He sad as he turned and went to unlock the door and go into the house turning the lights on.
